LMS Class 5XP Jubilee No. 45699 "Galatea" has just arrived with the ECS at Weymouth on July 9th 2016 for the return leg of "The End of Southern Steam". Current mainline loco unavailability meant that No. Southern loco was available for this run commemorating 49 years since steam ended on the LSWR mainline, although out of sight on the rear was of the train was BR Class 33 No. 33207, which was in operation at that time. The diesel hauled the train to Southampton where a reversal took place to allow steam haulage back to London via Andover.
