On going works in relation to Crossrail meant all services were restricted to the fast lines between Paddington and Airport Junction on the weekend April 23rd and 24th 2016. In what seems a little excessive, as it appeared the regular stairs would have been usable, a small bridge was built across the slow lines at Southall from Platform 4 to allow passengers to access Platform 2. In the background an unidentified GWR HST passes operating the 11:09 from Paddington to Great Malvern.
