Withdrawn in 1973 after working for just 10 years Class 35 No. D7076 avoided joining her sisters on the Swindon Works scrap lines by moving to the RTC Derby for further use as a Dead Weight vehicle. When withdrawn for a second time at the end of 1982 she was purchased for preservation and moved to the East Lancashire Railway at Bury. No. D7076 is seen on 14th April 1990 following restoration from a derelict condition outside the Bury Castlecroft Loco Depot.
