Cross Country Class 170/1 No. 170101 was involved in an incident at Clay Mills level crossing on the evening of 20th July 2015. According reports in the 'Burton Daily Mail' a car was left unattended on the crossing and after searches made by a Police Helicopter a thirty-five year old man was arrested in connection with the incident. The driver of the train and several passengers were treated for shock. The line will remain closed until at least 6am.
