Class 47/3 No. 47309 European Rail Operator of the Year arrives at Ipswich on 3rd July 1999. The '47' started life as No. D1790 on 10th December 1964 at Tinsley (41A) and was renumbered to 47389 between 23rd May 1994 and 28th July 1995. The locomotive was withdrawn on 19th January 2006 at Southampton Maritime and was cut up at T.J. Thompson of Stockton-on-Tees in February 2009.
