On 20th May 2015, London Midland Class 172 No. 172343 approaches Edstone Aqueduct with the 09:57 Stourbridge Junction to Stratford upon Avon. Taking the Birmingham to Stratford Canal over the railway and a road, this iron trough is the longest aqueduct in England. It was at one time owned by the GWR, and steam engines took on water from a pipe projecting from the base.
