At just after 22:00 on the evening of the 17th June 2014, Tamper No. DR73914 operated by S.B. Rail enters the engineering possession alongside Kirkby Stephen signal box and runs wrong line through Kirkby Stephen station. The tamper was on its way to Appleby where reballasting of the Settle & Carlisle was taking place.
