In connection with the Tour de France cycle race, a numder of operators provided additional and strengthened services. TransPennine Express ran some 6 car Class 185 formations and also used a loco hauled set on one diagram. Seen passing Copmanthorpe on 5th Jule 2014, running 25 minutes late, the 13:22 Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough service is hauled by DRS Class 47/4 No. 47853 with a 6 coach formation of DRS stock.
