In connection with the Tour de France cycle race, a number of operators provided additional and strengthened services. TransPennine Express ran some 6 car formations and also used a loco hauled set on one diagram. Seen passing Copmanthorpe on 5th July 2014 is DRS Class 47/4 No. 47841, heading the 09:50 Scarborough to Liverpool Lime Street service.
