Class 31/1 No. 31106 Spalding Town is pictured stabled at Ipswich with a Test train on 22nd September 2006. Delivered new as No. D5524 to 30A Stratford shed on 26th March 1959, it worked until withdrawal on 7th September 1998. Having been stored, it was sold to Howard Johnston Engineering in October 1999 and was one of several returned to work under the Fragonset banner. Now based at Derby, the locomotive is used on Network Rail Test duties.
