At Didcot Railway Centre at 10:00 on 5th April 2014 a short commemorative service was held on the anniversary of the deaths of Sir Nigel Gresley (d. 1941) and Charles Collett (d. 1952). Following the service, representatives of their masterpiece locomotive designs sounded their whistles for a full minute. On the left is Collett GWR King class 4-6-0 No. 6023 King Edward II with LNER A4 class Pacific No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley on the right.
