On the weekend of 9th and 10th November 2013, The Isle of WightSteam Railway held a "Hayling Billy 50" event, to commemorate 50 years since the closure of the Hayling island branch line. On Sunday 10th November A1X (Terrier) Class 0-6-0T No. W8 Freshwater, departs Ashey with the 12:32 from Smallbrook to Wootton.
