Displayed in the Old Station Hall of the National Railway Museum on 28th September 2013 is Class J13 No. 8846 and re-classified J52 by the LNER. It was privately preserved by Captain Bill Smith in 1959 becoming the first locomotive to be privately preserved from BR. In 1980 it was donated to the National Railway Museum.
