Over the weekend of 14th/15th September 2013, the Epping & Ongar Railway held its first diesel gala and although Saturday morning saw heavy rain the event was well attended. Here, the first two departures for Ongar wait at North Weald, on 14th September 2013, with BR Class 31/4 No. 31438 (double-heading with BR Class 47/4 No. 47635) leading the 09:20 and BR class 03 No. 03170 (double-heading with classmate No. 03119) leading the 10:10.
