Having just joined the West Coast main line off the Stoke branch Dutch Engineers livery Class 56 No. 56036 accelerates the Cliffe Vale (Stoke) to Bescot empty china clay train past the now disused and partly demolished Norton Bridge signal box on 25th September 1994. The photo was taken from the platform edge of the now closed and inaccessible station since the removal of the footbridge from the small station car park.
