English Electric Type 3 (Class 37) No.D6797 at Leicester Central on Thursday 28th February 1963 with train 1O42 York - Bourenmouth. The 37 was new on 7th December 1962 at 41A Darnall (Sheffield) and this train, from the autumn of 1962 was rostered for a Darnall 37 from Sheffield Victoria to Banbury. The loco would then return with the northbound working. This train brings back memories for me as I used to see it daily in the school holidays at Tibshelf, where I lived at approximately 12:30pm .I saw two batches of 37's on this train D6742-D6754 and D6796-D6818.Under TOPS she became 37097 and was withdrawn 8th January 2003 and sold for preservation to the Caledonian Railway, Brechin on 20th July 2003.
