DRS Class 57/0 No. 57009 pilots Class 47/4 No. 47853 'Rail Express' on an ECS working from Derby to Crewe Carriage Sidings as the duo diverge from the CrossCountry route at North Stafford Junction. The train, which had Class 47/4 classmates Nos. No. 47805 'John Scott' and No. 47813 'Solent' at the rear, had worked from the East Midlands to Berwick-upon-Tweed the previous day, and technical problems are suggested to have been the reason for the Class 57 locomotive.
