On Friday 2nd August 2013, having arrived on the rear of 5Z63, Southall to Alton, where it joined the train at Willesden, BR Class 37/9 No. 37901 'Mirrless Pioneer' pushes Peppercorn A1 class Pacific No. 60163 'Tornado' onto Mid-Hants Railway metals at Alton. The Class 37 is on loan from the East Lancs Railway for the remainder of the season to assist with traction requirements, as the Mid-Hants have been running a diesel only service utilising Class 50 No. 50027 'Lion' during the dry weather spell.
