The closure of the Marches line between Hereford and Shrewsbury on Saturday 22nd June 2013 resulted in the extremely rare event of a Freightliner hauled intermodal service being routed via the Birmingham to Cheltenham mainline. Here, Class 66/5 No. 66540 is seen heading 4V64, the 10:57 Crewe Basford Hall to Cardiff Wentloog intermodal service south through Croome Perry Wood, Worcester.
