With the Mallard's record breaking achievement approaching its 75th anniversary and the reunion of the six A4's imminent, a timely event took place on 27th February,2013 with the unveiling of a Blue Plaque in recognition of the design engineer Sir Nigel Gresley, who spent his childhood at the Rectory in the small Derbyshire village of Netherseal and is also buried there. The plaque was unveiled by his elder Grandson Tim Godfery and two Councillors. The Nominee was Ranger Will Griffin.
