Class 45 No. 45041 "Royal Tank Regiment" is seen in scrap line condition at Crewe Basford Hall at an Open Day on 21st August 1994. Fortunaetely No. 45041 was purchased by the Peak Locomotive Co. and restored to working condition at Midland Railway - Butterley. In 2013 No. 45041 is at the Great Central Railway. In contrast, the other locomotive seen Class 47 No. 47403 was cut up at Crewe in October 1994.
