Ready for action, the East Coast thunderbird, DBS Class 67 No. 67024, waits in the spur outside King's Cross signal box on 17th November 2012. In earlier days this was the site of the York Road platform with trains for the Metropolitan Widened lines emerging from the tunnel in the background only to plunge into the Widened Lines tunnel to the camera right.
