Saturday freight diversions: the undulating nature of the Fenland line is emphasized by the foreshortening effect of a telephoto lens, as GB Railfreight Class 66 No. 66730 'Whitemoor' crosses West Fen, near Turves in Cambridgeshire, with the 4M26 Felixstowe to Hams Hall working on Saturday 22nd September 2012. This is one of several Saturday container services that would normally be routed via Stratford and Willesden Junction onto the WCML, but which are instead being diverted via the Ely - Peterborough line until December 2012. Appropriately enough, Whitemoor, after which the locomotive is named, is just a few miles to the east of where this image was taken.
