Churchward Class 42xx 2-8-0T No. 4247 is seen stabled at Bodmin General during the B&WR Steam Gala on 7th September 2012. These powerful locos weighing in at just over 82 tons were originally built to haul heavy goods trains in the South Wales coal fields, this loco was withdrawn by British Railways in April 1964.
