Blur frontman, Damon Albarn organised a tour of Britain to promote music primarily from the continent of Africa, the train carrying 85 musicians and their instruments. It set out from Euston on 2nd September 2012 and visited many towns and cities on the UK mainland and was due to terminate at King's Cross on 8th September, the train running under the title 'The Africa Express.' The coaching stock was very much a mixed-bunch in terms of liveries, but haulage was in the capable hands of two DRS Class 47s, one at the front and the other at the rear. This view shows the train being hauled by No. 47805 with embellished buffers featuring a map of Africa on each one. It is seen at Undy on 7th September while en-route between Cardiff Central and Bristol Temple Meads
