On 15th July 2012, during an EMPRS night photo charter, Class 40 No. D212 Aureol stands at Swanwick Junction along with LMS 'Duchess' Pacific No. 46233 Duchess of Sutherland create a scene reminiscent of the transition period of steam to diesel along the West Coast Main Line.
