East Midland Trains Class 43 HST led by No. 43049 has just emerged from the 1920 yards of Corby Tunnel with a Sunday diverted service for London St Pancras on 20th May 2012. A peculiarity of trains diverted via the Syston, Manton, and Kettering line is that a St Pancras train departing from Leicester is initially heading north! At Syston the train is heading due east then at Manton Junction the train regains its correct southerly heading. Highlight of trains using this route is the crossing of the 82 arch Harringworth Viaduct across the Welland Valley.
