Following its disastrous southbound journey from Edinburgh the previous day, when both Class 47s failed and after rescue by a pair of 37s, it eventually arrived at Southampton docks four late, the ensemble returned to Crewe on the 27th April 2012. Running as the 10:48 Eastleigh - Crewe HS ECS, DRS Class 37 Nos. 37409 and 37601 pilot Class 47 No. 47841 through Cholsey with the Cruisesaver stock, along with No. 47818 bringing up the rear.
