The widening of the FR, at the Harbour station end of the Cob, is making real progress. On a glorious late-winter 12 March 2012, the massive width is obvious, in the view towards Porthmadog town, by comparison with the running line to the right, the massive stone barrier to the sea on the left and the prepared trackbed between.
