The first visit of a passenger-carrying Class 172 to Stratford-upon-Avon took place on 30th August 2011 when London Midland gave staff the chance for a run in No. 172345 to the terminus from Birmingham Snow Hill. The driver poses for a photograph alongside the train's can shortly before departure back to Birmingham.
