Ex-LMS No. 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' passes through Heaton Lodge Junction with the 'Scarborough Flyer' from Crewe on 19th August 2011. The variables that photographers have to 'play' with are evident here - if the train had arrived 30 seconds earlier, the scene would have been in bright sunlight, but No. 6201 would have been obscured by 185142 passes with the 09:40 Hull - Manchester Piccadilly service, seen in the bright sunlight in the far distance.
