Ex Army Dept Ruston 48DS 4W DM shunter operates over a short length of track at the south end of the WRHA Whitrope Heritage Centre site on 17th July 2011. This locomotive is the first to operate on the Waverley Route since the track recovery tains in 1969/1970. Whitrope Siding SB used to be at this location in the days of the double track railway from Carlisle to Edinburgh via Hawick and Galashiels.
