Seen from the newly opened footbridge, ex-S&DJR class 7F 2-8-0 No. 88 runs into Williton with an afternoon Minehead bound service on Sunday 10th July 2011. Even this view is transitory as the WSR has already announced plans to extend the Up loop to beyond the A39 overbridge in the background during the next Winter close season. This exercise will see the level crossing and the underbridge beyond rebuilt to accommodate double track. The objective of this rebuilding is to permit trains to use the full length of the Up platform, returning the station trackwork to its pre 1968 layout.
