On 23rd September 2009, Union Pacific EMD locomotive No. 5110 pilots the very late running Californian Zypher as it drops down from the summit of Donner Pass through Soda Springs after the Amtrak locos had mechanical problems. The Amtrak train locos are GE Genesis P42s No. 132 and 55.
