Preservation beckoned but alas was not to be, ex Highland Railway Ben No. 54398 Ben Alder stands in the rain at Dawlesholme Shed. Having been saved for over 10 years, it was sadly cut up in 1965. July 1961. The weather was not kind to us for most of this 7 day tour.
