In 1986/7 FR Double Fairlie 'Merddin Emrys' was subject to a major overhaul and it was restored to display heritage features once more from its previous austere appearance. The makeover produced a loco which was a joy to behold as is seen here at Porthmadog Harbour station on 28th February 2009.
