From Tuesday 30th November, East Coast introduced a contingency timetable based on 80mph running with some daily variations. Wednesday 1st December 2010 saw the last through trains from north of Edinburgh, with the Inverness to London KIngs Cross starting from Perth at 09:56. Here, it departs from York with Class 43 power car No. 43316 at the rear and 43208 leading.
