At the ceremony marking the completion of track laying from Caernarfon-Porthmadog on 28th February 2009, Paul Lewin, the Ffestiniog Railway GM, holds the trowel presented to William Gryffydd Oakeley on 26th February 1833 when the first sod was cut on the Ffestiniog railway.
