Network Rails Class 31/1 No. 31285, one of 3 owned by them, is seen here pulling Class 73/1 No. 73107 'Spitfire', which was returned to mainline traffic in 2004 following overhaul. The Class 73 is very unusual as it is an electro-diesel locomotive which can operate from a 750 V DC third-rail or an onboard diesel engine to allow it to operate on non-electrified routes.
