Metre-gauge HSB 2-8-2 steam locomotive 99-7237 stabled at The Brocken summit on Sunday 29th April 2007. It is a East German Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) Neubaulok dating from the 1950s. The Brocken and whole Harz area holds a Halloween-type festival on 30 April (May Day's Eve or Walpurgisnacht) every year at which a lot of the local beer Hasseroder (as advertised on the carriage to the left) is drunk.
