A4 No. 60019 'Bittern' is seen powering through Colwich after taking the line to Stafford while working 'The Palatine' tour from London Euston to Manchester. Of note, this was being recorded from the air and footplate for a DVD, as this was the first train to go non-stop between London and Manchester for over 30 years (excluding passenger pick-ups). This was why the extra tender was required, so that there were no water stops required. Class 47/4 No. 47826, which was on the rear, took the train back to Euston later that evening.
