Time was running out for class 45 haulage on the NE-SW expresses on 23rd May 1988. With only weeks left in service, No. 45113, unoffically named 'Athene', heads the Newcastle to Poole service past Chaloners Whin, shortly after departing from York. The loco, formerly D80, was withdrawn on 2 August 1988 and was cut up at MC Metals, Glasgow in 1990
