Former LMS Jubilee Class no. 45647 "Sturdee" has just passed Ecclesfield West station (closed in 1967) on the Barnsley to Sheffield line with a Bradford to Poole service on 2 April 1963. The line to the right of the picture is the former GC line through Ecclesfield East station which was closed in 1953, and latterly served the Smithywood coking plant.
