GBRf has repainted two of its Class 66/7 locomotives into stunning new livieres in connection with a naming ceremony in London.
The two locomotives, Nos. 66718 and 66721, both previously carried Metronet liveried since being delivered, were repainted by Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh Works. Their movement to London came in connection with the renaming of No. 66718 by Sir Peter Hendy OBE, the current Commissioner of Transport for London. During the event, which included a VIP tour around the London suburbs hauled by the two locomotives in 'top and tail' mode, No. 66721 was rededicated Harry Beck.
The livery of No. 66718 presents and all-over black colour scheme with famous quotes on London, along with graphic representations of London's taxis, the new electric bus, cable car and LUL S stock. No. 66721 is very different, being all-over white and carrying a section of the tube map. On one side is the cream-coloured 1933 version designed by Harry Beck, while on the other is the modern day 2013 version.
