GBRF Class 66/7 No. 66727 'Maritime One' runs round its train of loaded sand wagons on 4th April 2024, destined for Monk Bretton Redfearns. In order to do so then the 'light engine' movement requires it to ascend part of the single line to Oakenshaw South Junction as seen here to clear signals This diversion has been in place for a few weeks while a landslide is rebuilt between Pontefract and Knottingley It is almost 40 years since a freight last used this single line connection to the former Midland Main Line between Leeds Normanton and Sheffield.
