Over the past three years the busy University station in south Birmingham has undergone a complex rebuild and expansion with the new facilities opening last month. on 19th February 2024 Cross Country Class 170 No. 170108 arrives with the 11:30 Birmingham New Street to Cardiff Central service while West Midlands Trains Class 323 No. 323210 heads towards New Street with a Redditch to Four Oaks Cross City service.
