Built by for Porterbrook as a short lease unit, Class 170/3 No. 170399 is seen in service with Central Trains sporting colourful advertisements for Birmingham as it passes Millmeece with the 1341 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich working on 22nd February 2003. Circa 2007, the unit was renumbered to No. 170309 in the Trans-Pennine fleet, and again renumbered to No. 168329 (Class 168/3) on transfer to Chiltern Railways circa 2015/16.
