After a seven hour hike from Hohtenn Ausserberg station comes into view with the Rhone Valley and the town of Visp far below on 4th March 1994. The valley to the right beyond Visp marks the route of the r then BrigVispZermattBahn(BVZ) which after amalgamation in 2003 with the Furka Oberalp Bahn is now know as the ZermattGotthardBahn(ZGB).
