Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex lies at the end of a single line branch from Thorpe-le-Soken on the Colchester to Clacton line with a passing loop at Kirby Cross. It no longer enjoys any direct services to London but has an hourly service to Colchester for connections to the Great Eastern main line. on 19th October 2023, Greater Anglia Class 720 Aventra No. 720131 stands at Walton-on-the-Naze having arrived with the 10.56 service from Colchester and preparing to depart with the 11.58 service back to Colchester.
