On 16th October 2023, the 20:34 infrastructure monitoring train from Derby RTC to the West Midlands failed near Burton on Trent. On the afternoon of 17th October, Class 37/6 No. 37607 was sent to rescue the stricken train, pictured passing Willington, with Class 43/2s Nos. 43257 and 43272 both powerless, en route back to Derby RTC.
